| 内容記述 | Purpose Clarify family relationship characteristics and countermeasures from the perspective of public health nurses with respect to elder abuse cases in which they are involved. Methods Participants: Public health nurses working for administrative agencies (e.g. health/welfare service sections or community general support centers) who have actually been involved in elder abuse cases. Data collection: Nov '08-Feb '09 using semi-structured interviews. Interview: Brief summary of abuse case, family relationships, and countermeasures from the perspective of public health nurses. The interview record was transcribed to extract family relationships and countermeasures. The obtained data was analyzed by similarity and classified into several groups after raising the level of abstraction. Results and Consideration Number of participating public health nurses: 3.Number of cases: 4.Number of victims: 3 women, 1 man.Age of the victims: 80s (2) and 90s (2). Relationship of abusers to victims: Daughter, son, and daughter-in-law. According to the analysis results, such as <dependency>, <isolation>, <restrictive socialnorms>, and <resignation>, seventeen categories were extracted as characterizing the family relationships. Family relationships seem to be affected not only by the bilateral relationship between the victim and the abuser, but also by the multilateral relationships within the family. As the following countermeasures for public health nurses ,thirteen categories were extracted. The example were: <freedom from social norm restrictions>, <facilitating acceptance as a family issue>, and <connecting the family to a Community>. The nurses made an effort to change existing family relationships by supporting these relationships both directly and indirectly, taking advantage of family strengths. |
