| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to describe the history of the training of candidate for male head nurse in the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) before World War II and to consider the characteristic of the training. The result is as follows. 1. The training was done three times of 1913, 1914, and 1918. 36 candidates for male head nurse in total were trained in three years. There were many honor students who graduated from the male nurse training course of JRCS in them. 2. The training period was three months, and the training was done by using the textbook “Otsushukango-kyotei” newly compiled. 3. The training purpose was to improve the ability to lead male nurses of JRCS. 4. The leaders of JRCS expected candidates for male head nurse to lead their subordinates. Moreover, they expected that they continued self-learning so that they were not late for the advancement of the medicine and nursing. In addition, they expected them to be conscious of the role as the relief member of JRCS and to prove worthy of the people's trust. 5. The training was done to develop various relief activities of male nurse of JRCS in 1910's. In carrying out the training plan, JRCS didn't think about the abolition of male nurse and male head nurse training. |
