However, at the same time, their playing pachinko made them feel guilty in regards to their family and/or work. It was also found that some of their families triggered them to start playing pachinko or encouraged them not to indulge in playing too much.\nIt was understood from these results that the subjects have dealt with work-related stress, including compassion fatigue brought on by the emotional labor by playing pachinko. The interviewees enjoyed pachinko simply as a pastime largely because their families accepted their pachinko playing.
