Although palliative care units increase in number, many people still die in general wards. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the terminal care in general wards. The purpose of this study is to reveal what and how nurses involved in terminal care see and think to improve the quality of terminal care in general wards. As a means to achieve this purpose, three nurses in charge of terminal care in general wards were interviewed one by one for an hour each in the form of a semi-structured interview.\nThe findings are summarized as follow. The three nurses thought it difficult for nurses to share sufficient information on patients' and have constructive dialogues with medical doctors. They hope to achieve the wishes of patients and their families so that the patients can complete their lives according to their will.
